![]() The hiring manager can then say – “oh, that’s exactly the skill I need for this position.” Often simplicity can drive stronger impressions because it’s understood what exactly you did. For example, what does “Championed staff blogging” mean? Sometimes we get caught up using flowery language while losing the effect of the content. Read each one and think about what it REALLY means. I would state the number of years of experience you have doing, some of your top skills/achievements, and finally point out the role you are seeking to describe why your skills/current role make you perfect for the role. If you keep it, which I’d recommend to explain varied experience, a career change, or other non-standard circumstances, I’d recommend 2 brief phrases – no more than 2 or 3 lines. Usually, this doesn’t add anything to the resume, and a hiring manager usually skips it (we’re busy people and don’t have time to read 100 resume summaries). During this time, I started my own local jewelry company, which became profitable after just 6 months, and I served as the lead planner for multiple charity events, raising over $75,000, for my children’s school.” ![]() For example, a stay at home mom with a five year gap could fill in that space with: "Starting in May 2013, I left to work as a stay-at-home mom for my three children. It is better to have something on your resume rather than a gap showing unemployment. I can't stress enough how hiring managers don't want to read huge blocks of text paragraphs on the resume. When you do this, what do you see? Your resume needs to SCREAM whatever roles, skills, and experience is required by the role you want. A hiring manager will review your resume for approximately 10 seconds or less. The awards and achievements can be a separate section in the resume or within experience descriptions, depending on the length and organization of your resume. Add that you were Employee of the Year in 2015 for developing an algorithm for improving the efficiency of incoming customer service ticket sorting and organization. Describe how your work on a project significantly impacted the company, role, or the team. I see many critiques pushing for “achievements” in a resume, which is often confusing to many who don’t have metric-based roles or don’t quantify their responsibilities. What is the “top salesperson” denotation measured by? How many individuals are on the SaaS team? By what amount did you perform better than others on the team? For what period of time? Taking these into account, your description becomes something like: “Grossed highest sales in 25-member SaaS group for 2 years consecutively and improved SaaS team’s sales by 20%.” See the improvement? Don’t be afraid to bold the metrics throughout the resume. Too often resumes come to me with vague descriptions, like “Was top salesperson in SaaS group." While this may be true, push yourself to be more precise. Modern scientists have found smaller particles that make up the protons, neutrons, and electrons, although the atom remains the smallest unit of matter that can't be divided using chemical means. John Dalton FRS ( / dltn / 5 or 6 September 1766 27 July 1844) was an English chemist, physicist and meteorologist. ![]() For atoms with a high number of electrons, relativistic effects come into play, since the particles are moving at a fraction of the speed of light. Rather than the circular orbits of Rutherford's model, modern atomic theory describes orbitals that may be spherical, dumbbell-shaped, etc. The electron can potentially be found anywhere in the atom but is found with the greatest probability in an atomic orbital or energy level. Quantum mechanics led to an atomic theory in which atoms consist of smaller particles. This, in turn, led to Werner Heisenberg's uncertainty principle (1927), which states that it's not possible to simultaneously know both the position and momentum of an electron. Louis de Broglie proposed a wavelike behavior of moving particles, which Erwin Schrödinger described using Schrödinger's equation (1926). In 1913, Frederick Soddy described isotopes, which were forms of an atom of one element that contained different numbers of neutrons. Several discoveries expanded the understanding of atoms. The model and its validation in 1908 by Jean Perrin supported atomic theory and particle theory.īohr's model explained the spectral lines of hydrogen but didn't extend to the behavior of atoms with multiple electrons. In 1905, Albert Einstein postulated that Brownian motion was due to the movement of water molecules. Avogadro's law made it possible to accurately estimate the atomic masses of elements and made a clear distinction between atoms and molecules.Īnother significant contribution to atomic theory was made in 1827 by botanist Robert Brown, who noticed that dust particles floating in water seemed to move randomly for no known reason. In 1811, Amedeo Avogadro corrected a problem with Dalton's theory when he proposed that equal volumes of gases at equal temperature and pressure contain the same number of particles. His oral presentation (1803) and publication (1805) marked the beginning of the scientific atomic theory. He proposed that each chemical element consists of a single type of atom that could not be destroyed by any chemical means. Dalton's law of multiple proportions drew from experimental data. These theories didn't reference atoms, yet John Dalton built upon them to develop the law of multiple proportions, which states that the ratios of masses of elements in a compound are small whole numbers. Ten years later, Joseph Louis Proust proposed the law of definite proportions, which states that the masses of elements in a compound always occur in the same proportion. In 1789, Antoine Lavoisier formulated the law of conservation of mass, which states that the mass of the products of a reaction is the same as the mass of the reactants. It took until the end of the 18th century for science to provide concrete evidence of the existence of atoms. ![]() ![]() The tour became a commercial success, grossing $96 million in the first 19 North American shows and $109.7 million in total as well as attendance totalling at 979,781. Lazarus was brother to Martha and Mary, and their family lived in Bethany, which was located in Judea, south of the Mount of Olives near Jerusalem. The major portion of the well-known and stunning miracle found in the narrative about Lazarus is recounted in John 11:1-43, with further mentions of Lazarus found in John 12:1-2, 9-10, and 17. Jesus and Lazarus together attract the attention of many Jews and the narrator state that the chief priests consider having Lazarus put to death because so many people have come to believe in Jesus on account of his raising Lazarus. Six days before the Passover on which Jesus is crucified, Jesus returns to Bethany and Lazarus attends a supper that Martha, his sister, serves. Lazarus is mentioned again in the Gospel of John chapter 12. Jesus said to them, "Take off the grave clothes and let him go." When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out!" The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a cloth around his face. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me." Then Jesus looked up and said: "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. To which Jesus responds, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?" After that, Jesus asks for the stone of the grave to be removed, but Martha interjects that there will be a smell. Then, after asking where he was buried, the shortest verse in the four Gospels, and the entire Bible is found - Jesus wept. Upon seeing their grief and weeping, Jesus is deeply moved. Upon entering the village, Jesus is met by Mary and the people who have come to console her. The only other time this happens in the entire gospel is in the explanation the author of the Gospel gives for writing his Gospel at the very end. I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world", is only the second time (after Nathanael) that someone declares Jesus as Son of God and the first time someone equates him as 'Messiah' and 'Son of God' together. Martha's affirmation that she does indeed believe, "Yes, Lord. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Both associated with the school, Daubigny and Manet had been known to use the term to describe their own works. It had been used for some time to describe the effect of paintings from the Barbizon school. While the title of the painting seemed to be chosen in haste for the catalogue, the term "Impressionism" was not new. Monet claimed that he titled the painting Impression, Sunrise due to his hazy painting style in his depiction of the subject: "They asked me for a title for the catalogue, it couldn't really be taken for a view of Le Havre, and I said: 'Put Impression.'" In addition to this explanation for the title of the work, art historian Paul Smith claims that Monet might have named the painting Impression to excuse his painting from accusations of being unfinished or lacking descriptive detail, but Monet received these criticisms regardless of the title. It was recovered and returned to the museum in 1990, and put back on display in 1991. In 1985 the painting was stolen from the Musée Marmottan Monet by Philippe Jamin and Youssef Khimoun. Inc." Among thirty participants, the exhibition was led by Monet, Edgar Degas, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, and Alfred Sisley, and showed over two hundred works that were seen by about 4,000 people, including some rather unsympathetic critics. Impression, Sunrise became the most famous in the series after being debuted in April 1874 in Paris at an exhibition by the group "Painters, Sculptors, Engravers etc. The six painted canvases depict the port "during dawn, day, dusk, and dark and from varying viewpoints, some from the water itself and others from a hotel room looking down over the port". Monet visited his hometown of Le Havre in the Northwest of France in 1872 and proceeded to create a series of works depicting the port of Le Havre. Impression, Sunrise is displayed at the Musée Marmottan Monet in Paris. Impression, Sunrise depicts the port of Le Havre, Monet's hometown, and is his most famous painting of the harbor. Shown at what would later be known as the "Exhibition of the Impressionists" in April 1874, the painting is attributed to giving rise to the name of the Impressionist movement. Impression, Sunrise (French: Impression, soleil levant) is a painting by Claude Monet. |
